Great Philadelphia Cream Cheese Recipes

In Good Taste

I love using seasonal foods when cooking. Most of the time food that is in season will be at its best, taste wise, and will be fairly inexpensive as well. Right now, it’s time for plums. These purple, sweet ,sour, juicy, over sized grapes make me think of my childhood. They are they definition of heavenly when they are eaten with cream cheese. Here’s how to take your ordinary Philly Cream Cheese flavor and add my favorite fruit.

Plum Cream Cheese

1/2 (8 oz.) package cream cheese

1/3 cup finely chopped dried plums, divided

1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts, toasted

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1-2 tablespoons orange juice, to taste

1 tablespoon honey

Salt

MIX cream cheese, dried plums, nuts, 1 tablespoon of the orange juice, honey and cinnamon in large bowl.

ADD remaining orange juice, if necessary, to reach desired consistency. Season with salt, as desired.

SERVE spread onto toasted bagels.
