Getting your kids to eat good wholesome and healthy meals can be a little tricky sometimes, but it doesn’t have to be. The most important thing is to make your kids feel as good about what there eating as you do, and an easy way to do that is to make their meals fun! Try themed meals, let them help out, or give each dish a cool quirky name. Make some of the recipes below that use kid-friendly Philadelphia cream cheese, and other yummy and healthy ingredients.
- Morning Maple Waffles: Take your kids’ favorite toaster waffle and instead of using that sugary syrup, try spreading a little Philly honey nut flavor on them. Then set them on the breakfast table along with fixings like crispy bacon, sausage, and sliced bananas and strawberries. Then let your kids build make funny face waffles. For extra nutrition try using a whole grain waffle.
- Wake-Up Quesadilla: Your kids will love this Mexican inspired breakfast, and the best part is that you can have it done and on the table in just minutes. Fill a tortilla with Philadelphia light cream cheese spread and place a Boca meatless breakfast patty on it. Fold over and serve with fresh fruit and orange juice for a well balanced breakfast sure to please those little tummies!
- Frosty Berry Blend: What little kid doesn’t scream for ice cream after dinner? If you are trying to keep tabs on how much sugar they eat before bed time, try squashing that sweet tooth with a healthy ice cream alternative. These berry smoothies are just as good as any ice cream, but with out all that added sugar. Milk, honey, Philadelphia cream cheese, and your favorite frozen fruit are all you need to make this kid-friendly dessert.
- Aloha Canadian bacon Pizza: I’ve made a similar version of this for my little cousins when I baby-sit. They aren’t very fond of tomato sauce, so using Philadelphia cream cheese instead was the perfect alternative. They also really loved the chunks of pineapple and Canadian bacon.
- Creamy Chicken Pasta Toss: This dish takes a childhood staple like macaroni and cheese, and adds in all those vegetables that you’ve been trying to get you kids to not just eat, but like. Guarantee they will love this cheesy pasta and veggie dish. Serve some small slices of garlic bread on the side.
